Macro Synthetic Fibres (DURUS)
Our range of DURUS fibres are polypropylene structural fibres that are revolutionising concrete construction. By simply adding DURUS to the concrete, the synthetic fibres eliminate the need for steel mesh with the benefits of increased performance, reduced cost and health and safety advantages.
Depending on the application we have varying lengths of DURUS, ranging from 30mm up to 50mm. We also have excellent flexibilty in terms of packaging. The majority of fibres can also be packed in boxes from as little as 8Kgs up to bulk boxes or sacks containing 200Kgs.
The unique manufacturing process means that we can pack up to one tonne on a pallet. This means that transport costs can be kept to a minimum and the fibres need less storage space than alternative products.

Benefits Over Steel Fibres & Steel Mesh
- Easier to handle than steel – DURUS is lighter than steel, substantially reducing freight costs and making it far easier to handle
- Easier to add to concrete than steel – DURUS is pre-packed in accordance with manual handling regulations.

- Steel fibres can protrude from the base after mixing, creating a hazardous site environment.
- Saves time- Use DURUS and there’s no time-consuming placing of steel mesh before pouring the concrete and in today’s construction world, saving time means saving money.
- Guaranteed accuracy of installation- Steel mesh can be misplaced, with a dramatic impact on quality and production schedules particularly where it has to be repositioned prior to the concrete pour. DURUS cannot be misplaced, eliminating such problems.
- No corrosion- Unlike steel, DURUS is not affected by atmospheric conditions, the alkali environment found in concrete or the presence of moisture, all fundamental causes of corrosion/rusting. This will offer clients the reassurance that projects using DURUS will have long-term integrity.
